Ok, I admit it - I saw New Moon. And I also admit I'm one of those scary screaming fan girls. And before you go on with your bourgeois-isms about how Twilight is so teenage let me tell you something; I am a teenager. And quite frankly, I don't care if you dislike Twilight. I understand if you're a male and you dislike Twilight because you’ve realized you will never live up to Edward or even Jacob for that matter. But if you are a girl, and haven't even given the series a chance, and are just saying how uncool Twilight is to sound cool, I find you insecure.

Besides what is there not to love? Hot vampires, gorgeous boys in the soaking rain (did I mention without tee-shirts?), graphically amazing werewolves, Miss Dakota Fanning playing a role that is not so pretentious, and an amusing maniacal Michael Sheen. What more do you really want? Yes I agree, I wished we could have seen more of the dazzling Edward too, but the director was just following the book’s plot line faithfully. I know I know.  Jasper should have just controlled his blood thirsty urges so Edward could have stayed. But he didn’t, jerk.  And I know you are upset that Robert Pattinson/Edward Cullen didn’t look nearly as good as he did in the first film, but be thankful that Taylor Lautner/Jacob Black was there as a replacement. And not only did I think Kirsten Stewart/Bella Swan (er…Cullen) looked way prettier in this film, I also thought her acting greatly improved too. We no longer see her awkward mannerisms and her tendency to stroke her hair in distress.  So, darlings go and see it. Laugh and smile, love Edward but secretly crush on Jacob too!

P.S. My friend invited me too a Twilight Convention where I get to see and talk to Peter Faccinelli/Carlisle Cullen. Jealous much?

They are both hotstuff, love my Edward though!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:47:22 pm

Excuse me, your Edward?

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:48:18 pm

No no no, silly children. You must be mistaken he is my Edward. You can have that child, what's his name? Oh yeah, Jacob.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:49:12 pm

Uhg, now now now. Frassy you are the silly one you unfortunatley have the wrong man, Jacob is the best.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:49:55 pm

Well yes, Jacob Black is an absolute god. But so is Edward.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:50:25 pm

Edward isn't a god, he doesn't have a soul, he can't be.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:51:33 pm

I totally agree with your review. I hate those annoying people who are like "twilight sucks!" because they have it all wrong they suck.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:52:09 pm

Well I'm convinced now, I must see it.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:54:22 pm

I have to say I am one of those annoying haters. But you sound genuinley cool so I will have to give it a chance. And I have never given it a chance so why do i have the right to judge?

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:55:43 pm

New Moon isn't out here yet, but you made me increasingly excited for it too. I'm a crazy fan girl too, I have OCD obssesive cullen disorder!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 4:56:14 pm

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:00:26 pm

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:01:18 pm

He asks her to marry him, OMG!!!!!!! I had no idea! Isn't she just eighteen?

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:02:51 pm

I thought she looked dramatically prettier too, it was the make up. Who knew what a little mascara could do.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:04:04 pm

Your post title cracks me up. Ahahah yeah he sparkles!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:04:50 pm

Their acting chops wat improved, must agree!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:06:03 pm

Michael sheen was fantasticly creepy, wasn't that other guy from Sweeney Todd the jo-anna guy who looked young and innocent?

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:07:44 pm

Those men are tres tres handsome, wish the men in France were like that.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:08:41 pm

Nicole the guy from sweeney todd was in there, btw!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:09:17 pm

Seeing it tonight, with my boy I'm sure he will love it :)

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:11:19 pm

I have heard it's better than Twilight but everyone either loves it or hates it. Guess I will have to see it for myself before i become too opinionated.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:13:13 pm

People that hate the biggist thing of the decade are dumb, and miley cyrus is not the biggest thing of the decade.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:16:23 pm

I believe definitley an improvement i felt bad for jake and bella. but not edward. he left her and literally took everything, she was dead. i have been like that before over a guy, but my deadness lasted only two weeks hers lasted four months.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:17:38 pm

God Jasper, jerk. So true, you made me crack up but the sad thing is I actuallly really love Jasper. He and Alice are super cute!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:18:15 pm

I'm getting my hair done again on Friday (it's been far too long, being a student sucks when getting your hair done costs $110 here, let alone in the city where it's double that price).

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:19:54 pm

I still haven't seen it, might wait a week or so until the hype dies down. I am a fan but not religiously so, though I'm glad I gave the books a chance. Just finished the last one, which I think will make an amazing film.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:20:02 pm

That said, this is the film you've seen in your head if you've read the books. The film comes by its earnest love in an honest manner, it does the work to make the characters relatable and dynamic. The notion of how we hurt the people we care about is fused tautly with the supernatural. The werewolves look great, and the slowed down (yet styled up) action clearly elevates the work.

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:21:00 pm

Some HOTNESS in that movie!

Sat, 21 Nov 2009 5:21:49 pm

Now then, there are three elements I have to knock New Moon on:
* Without knowing the source material this might be tougher to relate to. Having read New Moon it seemed extremely well executed, but I know not everyone will have that experience going in.
* Director Chris Weitz uses music to cover almost everything in the film, to the point where it's tough to say what's pulling on your heart. Is is the actors? The dialogue? Or the persistent and haunting noise in the background? As a sucker for music I don't quite trust myself with a film this drenched in tunes.
*There are points where the melodrama is a beat too long. For minutes on end things feel authentic, but there are a few cringe-worthy moments too. You'll know them when you see them, the audience I was with chuckled a few times when things went a little too far.

Alice

Hmm. I jumped on the Twilight bandwagon and read/ saw the first book/ movie. Then jumped right off. It's totally a matter of taste and I've never really been into this stuff.

DONT HATE ME. DONT HATE ME. DONT HATE ME. I've heard the second movies actually really good. And I actually am really interested in seeing Dakota Fanning in this film.

I think Twilight is okay. I saw the first film at a friend's house, but I'm unsure if I'll see the new one.

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 4:11:27 am

Yay New Moon! I was so excited to see it, but it fell a bit short from my expectations. But oh well, because Taylor's 8 pack made up for it :)

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 7:11:20 am

Hey there. How are you doing today? I hope you've been having a fantastic weekend. Take care. Have a great week ahead. Cheers!

You're not alone!! I've seen New Moon three times already!! I so adored it.

Plus, for all those boys who don't like it, I say get over yourselves. Cole loved the series and movies.

But maybe that's because he's awesome like Edward and Jacob!

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 1:47:14 pm

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I want to!

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 2:54:03 pm

I went to the midnight screening of "New Moon" and absolutely loved it! Although, I didn't care for the miniscule hour and a half of sleep I got before school the next day, but it was so worth it. I liked it so much that I actually went to see it again the next night! Team Jacob forever! :)

Don't hate me! I really dislike twilight. I read all the books and will admit to falling in love with the first one. but the plot began to get worse and worse climaxing with the horrendous breaking dawn (don't kill me!). And upon rereading them the writing was almost laughable. I did see the first movie and will probably see the second eventually. I'll try to keep an open mind. Hopefully Kristin Stewert will have stopped her lip bighting acting thing...

SO JEALOUS. I have the biggest crush on peter facinelli. Alright second biggest.. team edward for life. And you know what, I love twilight too and so do all my friends... and we're in our twenties. haha. It's definitely aimed more towards girls and gays but you know what? I took my boyfriend to new moon last night and he thought parts were lame but was still stoked on the werewolves.

And yes, kristen stewarts acting is way better now. and edwards makeup was the worst but it takes a much bigger screw up to make robert pattinson look ugly. um, but what was with his nipples? please tell me you noticed.

I loved the book series, but HATED the movies. I heard this new one's better but i don't believe it.
Someone i know said "pattinson delivers love lives with the same tone one might used to order a cheeseburger"
Max Minghella (look him up, he's gorgeous!) would have made a way better edward!
