Back from C a l i f o r n i a , I missed blogging, but had a wonderful time with my godsibilings: Chloe, Phoebe, and Cael! We went to the beach, ate out a lot, went to the movies, watched Star Wars 3, ranted about Anakin and his troubles, became Star Wars nerds went to a water park, attempted to surf, went to the beach, tanned, took pictures, got manicures, went to the zoo, mini golfed, argued, complained, watched Meet The Fockers, laughed till we cried, discussed Michael Jackson's death, listened to Michael Jackson music, watched a million THS on E! about Michael Jackson,  watched a whole ton of Michael Jackson TV, watched E! News on Michael, listened to Michael's music, stayed up late, and well in general had a good time! I am very sad about the death of Michael Jackson, he was iconic and b r i l l i a n t. Nothing makes me more happy then to turn on his tunes and attempt the moon walk. He has some rather u n p l e a s a n t history about him, but that’s not really the point. We don't actually know if he molested little children, he was proved innocent, so lets just believe the best in people. I will forever miss him :(

I adore this Kate Moss photo shoot, it totally shows the bright surreal-ness of California. The weather was gorgeous and the s a n d oh so very white. You can't help but smile. And I think its nice to see older photos of the younger Ms. Moss, she had stunning skin and dark hair. Somewhat  f r e s h e r  looking, don't you think?
Picture
Overall, I was very pleased with my hiatus, I got to know my godsibilings soo much better and I got to relax a ton. But now I must turn off my v a c a t i o n brain and go jump into the pool for a swim meet, ah life!

Thanks for reading as always, I will be  g e t t i n g  b a c k  to your comments as soon as possible!

Summer days pass by so quickly, and once I start thinking I'm busy doing nothing, I realize I have actually been doing something. Actually quite a lot. One thing my family recently started is a big remodel, you will see later in this set of pictures that my A-M-A-Z-I-N-G photographer friend Lewa took. And another thing is that I j o i n e d  a  b a n d. Laugh if you want, but the music business is quite serious. Three of my tennis friends and I will soon be the American version of the Spice Girls with better dance moves than NSYNC and more popular than the Jonas Brothers. We have already written four songs and are working hard on our album. We have a rap, reggae, ballad, and a heavy metal song. We are making sure not to leave out any minorities. Nah, well we aren't that serious, but this will just be something to spend our summer days with. Our band name is Where Are the Lost Giraffes in Bangladesh, long story. Oh, and as you can see the page has a n e w  s e t  u p, you guys like?
Picture
Today, Lewa and I spent this cold summer day very well. We went to an abandoned graffiti crack hole.  Before being covered in inspirational quotes (see pictures further down) and creepy hunched men it was a place called Tubs. Now remembered fondly as a sleaze hang out where people t o o k  b a t h s  t o g e t h e r, how strange. It was from the 80's, I suppose they did those kinds of things then.

A few weeks ago a lovely lady named Julia, from the equally lovely boutique Moxsie sent me some clothing. Moxsie is an online boutique featuring tons of i n d e p e n d e n t    d e s i g n e r s. Extremely eclectic. They feature everything from cute geek sticks, statement tees, and knuckle rings, to a plethora of white minimalist canvas kicks. I received three wonderful pieces, I have had so much fun wearing them, very eye catching. They were so  g e n e r o u s that they have offered all my readers (meaning you) a 15% discount, just enter the code CONFECTIONAIRY when purchasing.
Picture

This feather necklace may be my favorite item I received. It's made of nine o s t r i c h p l u m e s and hangs on a gold plated chain, and if that wasn't exciting enough, there are several Opalescent Crystals dangling from it too.
Picture
They also sent me this Napoleonic vest coat.  It looks amazing over jeans and is a great item to l a y e r over a solid coloured top. Whenever I wear it I am always putting my hand over my chest, just like Napoleon. Definitely not the average vest, that’s why I love it so much!

Here are some i n s p i r a t i o n a l  q u o t e s  I promised you earlier. I learned a lot; learn something new everyday, right?
Picture
Moxsie also sent me one more item, the tote bag below. You can wear it as a tote bag, but it also has a great  a d j u s t a b l e  s t r a p  to sling it over your shoulder with. It is lined with a gorgeous turquoise silk; I think I stared at the lining for about half an hour, the colour is really divine. I did not wear it with my outfit today because I didn't have enough things to carry with me. But I'm planning on using it to carry books and my coat.
Picture
These two shots were taken in my backyard where the remodel is starting; it's only the first day, but looks like there is quite a bit of progress. The photo below looks like I'm digging my  g r a v e  will all these late nights, maybe I am. I should get more sleep...
Picture
Before I forget, I think I should mention I will be in California till Monday hanging out with my  g o d s i b i l i n g s. I haven't seen them in about six years so I doubt I will be posting. It will only be a short trip so I don't think you will miss me. Have a nice week, thanks for all the sweet comments!

Just finished watching The Titanic and bawling my eyes out. I have probably seen the film over 30 times, but every time it just gets better. Leo's smile makes me smile more, Kate's dress make my jaw drop more, and u l t i m a t e l y the love and death between Leo and Kate makes me cry more.  During the film, between bawling my eyes out, I thought about l o v e. Kate was in a lifeboat safe but she jumped out of it back onto the sinking boat just to be with Leo. She couldn't bear to be with out him because she loved him so much, that made me cry. I decided at the moment I will only ever marry someone if I'm willing to jump back onto "that boat" to be with him. And I thought about love some more. People use the term I love____ so lightly that it's lost its preciousness. I do myself, I am always saying I love that I love this I love you, but do I really mean it. All girls know those three s a c r e d words; I love you, are the most important you will ever hear. So when I hear just one of those words thrown around like a ball it makes me sad (oh yes, I am crying again) we should preserve the word for the right moment.

If I hadn't watched The Titanic tonight I probably would have said 'I love this editorial'. But I don't love this editorial. It can't love me back, it doesn't give me a warm cozy feeling, and it isn't the most important thing in the world. But then again I do like this editorial. The colors are sweet and there is a sheer sense of playfulness. The accessories are o p t i m i s t i c and styled to perfection. Remember though, I don't love it, I like it. Do you get the difference? Maybe I'm just being drugged by Leo's e n d u r i n g smile or getting soft, that's just how I feel.

Hope you like this editorial, I sure did. And love your family and if you have them boyfriends or husbands. Give me a shout out if you do!

Guess what. I got tagged again! But I really love this one because it's so unique and different than the others.

1. My Heart in a picture.

2. My Heart in a poem.

John Lennon - LOVE

Love is real, real is love,
Love is feeling, feeling love,
Love is wanting to be loved.
Love is touch, touch is love,
Love is reaching, reaching love,
Love is asking to be loved.
Love is you,
You and me,
Love is knowing,
We can be.
Love is free, free is love,
Love is living, living love,
Love is needing to be loved.

Very simple, when John says "love is knowing, we can be" it sounds like he is crying. So sweet.

3. Your Heart in a song: All You Need is Love, the Beatles.
Picture
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy. There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you
in time - It's easy. All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

4. Your Heart in a quote.

"Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one."-Friedrich Halm

"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken"-Oscar Wilde

"In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make"-Paul McCartney

Sorry, I had to pick three, I was about to add a Shakespeare monologue...

Who doesn't love happy endings?
Picture

Wasn’t that sweet? I tag everyone and anyone who reads this, I figure it’s pretty self-explanatory so I won’t add the instructions. Thanks Prudence for tagging me, I had so much fun! Prudence is a great blogger who may like The Beatles just as much as me, may. As this is a matter of the Heart tag, I though I might discuss some…well matters of the heart. Firstly, I am a good person. And I always want to be a good person, if I have ever hurt any of you – I’m sorry. Secondly, I would like to take the type to answer an anonymous commenter’s question: Ate you happy, or are you fake happy?. I am curious what sparked this question, but nevertheless I will answer it. I’m not one to be “fake” happy, I am either actually happy, sad, confused, or glad. My yoga instructor once gave me a card that said “the truth will set you free, but also make you suffer”. This is the reason I can never be 100% happy, because the truth is that there is hate, greed, deceit, death, and most importantly the fact I haven’t found the higher meaning in my life yet. So I’m still searching. But that’s ok with me for the moment, I am generally a very happy person! Have a nice night!

Yesterday, after mulling over what  to wear I decided I didn't own anything that I felt like wearing. But in these tighter economic times, for the first time ever on FASHIONconfectionairy, I made something myself.

Picture
Unfortunatly, I was an idiot and forgot to take step by step process photos. But I think I can explain. First, I started with a plain orange tank top that has been sitting in the botton=m of my dresser for over a year. You can use any colour but white, so I used orange which is a nice contrast.
Picture
Originally, I was going to bleach/acid wash jeans but I was hesitant to whether it would work so I tested it on my tank top first. I filled an empty spray bottle with 2/3 water and 1/3 bleach and shook it up.

Picture
Then, I layed the tank top flat in the bath tub and started spraying where where ever I liked. Ever so often I would scrunch up a bit of the  fabric and remove the lid of the formula and through the bleach on. This is the result.
Picture
I'm quite happy with it and my friends thought it was a good idea. My next DIY project I am planning on are the cropped top (just like Lisa wears in Weird Science, watched that last night) and acid washed jeans. I'm not sure how exactly to acid wash, if you have any tips they would be much appreciated!

Picture
This pretty much sum up my thoughts at the moment. Oh, and I have a new music crush; Lily Allen. Perez Hilton has drugge us into thinking she is a fatter drunker version of Katy Perry. So not true, her new album It's Not Me It's You features references racism ("Fuck You"); ageism ("22"); the dark side of celebrity and consumer culture ("The Fear"); drug dependency ("Everyone's At It"); and 9/11 ("Him"); but also TV dinners ("Chinese"); the enduring rubbishness of men ("Never Gonna Happen"), as well as the fragile beauty of early romance ("Who'd Have Known"). Fantastic! "I find it hard to write songs about nothing," says Allen. "I try to write things that are both relevant to my life - which is totally weird and surreal - and also universal. I think the record probably is a bit darker but not because I have a darker outlook on life. ". I remeber her previous album, but this one blows me away, go check it out or at least her free mix on her website, I think I'll go buy her album!

Hello, dearies. The weather here in Seattle has been frightfully good, so summer so far has been excellent. Despite the fact that while shopping my phone broke in half, but that’s actually ok cause I got a new cuter one; the LG Neon. Some of you were curious about my last post title and where I draw inspiration. “The Greatest Love Story that Almost Was”, was obviously the Beatles. The Beatles were so popular and so loved, they had 15 number one albums and the most number one hits ever. They impacted the world immensely and practically defined the 60’s. They are even, according to the Rolling Stone Magazine, the best band that ever was. But they were also prisoners of their own fame, thrown into a situation that Liverpool didn’t quite prepare them for. They lasted only eight years and went down with a bang. I’m sure we all would have wished they had stayed together, produce more enchanting music, but they didn’t – so they were “The Greatest Love Story that Almost Was”. I admit I’m not sure why that was my post title, probably because that I was thinking about the Beatles and there legacy at the time. Anyway, I was tagged about a week ago by Hannah at Narnia's Closet and here it is! Thanks for tagging me!

Picture
What is your current obsession?

The summmer breeze, dark chocolate, sun, love, and Jane's CHANEL shoes (below). Oh and of course, as alwas, The Beatles.

Picture
What is your horoscope & do you relate to it?

Like Hannah who tagged me, I'm a Pisces. She said Pisces are creative, emotional, free loving, and a bit un-motivated at times. That definitely describes me.

What are you wearing today?

Yellow floral dress, cardigan, wedges, and Italian leather purse. Oh with a pair of super hip Ray-bans :)
What's the last thing you bought?

A blue sundress or frozen yogurt, can't remember the order....
What do you think about the person who tagged you?

She has lovely style and just got a great hair cut. She seems open to many things which is also just lovely!
That question about a fully furnished, paid-for that everyone answers with 'Paris' or 'New York'.

London. Why? Because the guys have cute accents, they have delicious candy, Topshop, a royal family, Paul McCartney lives there (I’m planning on stalking him), and my favorite (well and only) three-year-old twin cousins live there.

Picture
Picture
What's for dinner?

We had Thai food, so yummy. Fried tofu, Seafood Phad See Ewe, and Spicy Salmon
What is your must haves for summer?

Sun dresses and a fantastic playlist.
If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would it be?

To a wonderful dream land.

Picture
Who do you want to meet right now?

Zooey Deschanel, isn't she so adorable. Oh, and maybe Paul McCartney, my cousins, Oscar Wilde, Kate Moss, Michael Phelps, James Dean, hmmmm the list goes on.....
What is your favorite piece of clothing from your own closet?

My Top Gun inspired leather jacket. I bought it approximately 2 hours after I watched Top Gun with a friend, yes I'm that type of person.
What is your dream job?

Fashion Journalist, IT-Girl, and international do-gooder (sorry Hannah had to steal that term).
What's your favorite magazine?

Teen Vogue and ELLE.
Picture
What do you consider a fashion faux-pas?

Ed-hardy clothing, or anything that resembles Ed-Hardy, so tacky and trashy.
Describe your personal style.

I don't fit into one catagory, I'm a bohemian at heart, with classic Gossip Girl touches, and mod colours.

What are you going to do after this?

Shower, take my dog on a walk, and eat a grapefruit.
Three styling tips that always work for you:

1. better over dressed than under.
2. It has to be you and make you feel happy.
3. Dress up as if you were a character, that’s what the essence of fashion is.

Which Beatle is your favorite?

Paul McCartney. Though I do like them all, Paul is the best.

What are you proud of?

Hate these questions, hate talking about myself. Well, I think I am  a fairly good writer, a good microwaver, and being open to others and their cultures, gender, race, religion, or sexuality.I am a tolerant person, and strongly believe tolerance is they key to being happy.

There are rules to this ... Respond and rework – answer the questions on your own blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, and add one more question of your own. Tag four others
I know I have avoided singling out people for awards or tags a million times, because I'm not of fan of exclustion. This time I will pick four people but really anyone can do this.

You can't denie The Beatles were the 'Greatest Love Story that Almost Was?

Yesterday, was my last day of school, thank god! The year went by quickly, but more things were expected of us and we had to work harder. I can only imagine what next year will be like. So, I'm going to enjoy this summer running, swimming, shopping, and being kooky with my friends, even though I will be studying algebra a bit here and there.

Picture
We haven't gotten our grades yet, but we immediately we started congradulating ourselves on being kings ( and er queens) of the world.

Picture
It was fun. We went out for lunch then went shopping, The weather was gorgeous, and it was lovely to go window shopping. We did do a lot of window shopping, but I managed to get away with a blue floral sundress.
Picture
Then we went into Apple and took a hundred pictures of ourselves wih photo both. I enjoyed seeing myself so much in cartoon pixels and black and white that I nearly started to cry when I saw my normal face in the mirror later. We were in there for about 45 minutes, I'm suprised they didn't get kicked out for loitering. You always get kicked out of Rite Aid, so don't hang around there to long...just thought you should know.
Picture
In case you can't tell, these photos are from two different Teen Vogue spreads. I have expressed my love for Teen Vogue spreads often on this blog, they represent fashion for teens, are always perfetly whimsical, they make you want the models lifestyle as much as their boyfriends and clothing. The editors pay intense attention to detail and produce as close to perfect as there is spreads.

Picture

I was recently asked what clothing item I am mst excited about wearing this summer, tough question, hmmm...I have a fairly unoriginal answer: sundresses, interesting random jewelry, aviators and gladiator sandals. How about you guys?Anyway, hope you are out of school/work as well and are enjoying the summer sun and doing crazy fun things with your friends.

Paragraph.

Over the last few weeks, in school, we have been learning about AIDS, and HIV. I am amazed by what risks we have of contracting and STD, shocked by STD consequences, and scared for those who have it. Now I really understand what Bono means when he tells us we need to help; now I understand. In case you have been living on planet Mars for the last thirty years, I will give you a brief definition of HIV and AIDS.  HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system, which is the body's defense against infection. HIV uses healthy white blood cells to replicate itself, breaking down the immune system and leaving the body more susceptible to illness. An HIV positive person is diagnosed with AIDS when their immune system is so weak that it is unable to fight off illness. These diseases are called opportunistic infections because they take advantage of the weakened immune system. Ultimately, people do not die from AIDS itself, they die from one or more of these opportunistic infections. Every fifteen seconds a person 15-24 years old (which is most of you reading this) contracts HIV/AIDS, and every 5 minutes someone dies of it. I'm sure many of your already know this, but we need to spread awareness! AIDS is incurable, but there is research, and we can raise money to help aid research.
Picture

One way we can raise money is by buying H&M celebrity designed clothing. All profits go to aid those who have in and for research. This is an Estelle shirt, hmmm....I am not a big fan of the lettering and I don't think my dad would allow me to go with it on. Still spreads the message, and that is always good.

Picture
Another shirt I don't think I would be allowed to go out in, seems to send the wrong message don't you think?

Picture
Onsie by Rosilin Murphy, I don't know who she is, does anyone? I can't tell what it says, but it's a onsie, and I have been eyeing the style for a while, so if I can get one and help the cause, why not.

Picture
And this is my favorite, it comes in black and white, is cute and spreads a good message! I think i will be buying this one, and it's true, we all do enjoy life and so should others. If you don't like any of these shirts there are plenty of other brands supporting finding the cure for AIDS, such as Gap, Converse, and Apple with PRODUCT RED.

Picture
I recieved a lovely blog award fo a second time, this time by I Want You To Know who has  quite a lovely blog herself. You should definitley check it out! I nominate you all, beacuse you are all fabulous and aare all making a difference in this world. I hope this post has been helpful, and not to morbid. Just remember even though AIDS is a pendemic we should be worried about....

Today, my lovely grandma, as in my lovely stylish grandma who likes to buy things for me, and I went on a shopping spree! We decided to forgo the usual Northgate Mall/Downtown shopping pattern and  drove all the way out to Bellevue Square Mall. I rarely ever go to Bellevue Mall because A. its far away, and B. its big. No it’s not just big, it’s GIGANTIC. I swear new additions are always being added and it is just sprawling all over the place. We shopped for a solid five years and only visited 200ft of the mall. But where we did shop at, I scored.
But surprisingly the two shops I really scored at are shops I have a GIGANTIC (as in as big as Bellevue Square Mall) taboo against; Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch. In fifth grade I loved Abercrombie/Hollister, but then it became passé and too teenage. So when I walked out of the shop with five things you can just imagine how delightfully surprised I was. Not only was I happy with my super cute purchases the volume of the music had been turned down and the cologne intensity lowered.  Even though I did see a bottle in the employee area that said “Clothes Spritzer- Spray 3X 8ft. away from Clothing”, it seemed like they had relaxed more and shaken off their teenage shell a bit....a bit.

Picture
I like this top because of the ruffle, but it wasn’t even me who picked it, it was my grandma. I can envision myself wearing this on vacation bicycling, sounds perfect….no?

Picture
And I got these shorts that would look great with the top above and are soo comfortable, I wonder what they are made of, doesn’t matter they are divinely comfortable and very versatile.

Picture
My dad said this top looked French and like something my mum use to wear. I have always loved anything nautical and the stripes are the perfect thickness. Not too short or too fat. I really like the sleeves; they are a little longer than usual and are a cute touch.
Picture
And I got this adorable romper in navy! I have been literally dying to get a romper, the blue willl be perfect for the beach and the ruffles are very sweet. I think I scored, I also got a peasent blouse from Forever21 and this girl I babysitt for brought me the best presy ever - a Beatles tee. Isn't that sweet? Did you guys buy or do anything interesting this week? I would love to hear some stories! Thank you for the comments, dearies, they really make my day!
Picture

Above is some cute couple model love, I love cute couples they make me feel happy, I hope they do the same for you!

Chloe Sevigny is my absolute muse turned actress turned model turned socialite. She has an absolutely breath taking unconventional beauty to her as well as impeccable style. Her long golden hair and yearly tan body is no wonder why she is so popular. What I love about fashion is that there are so many different people playing a part in the "scene". In the swinging sixties a photographer (whose name is escaping my mind) took a picture of the "scene", there were models, artists, muses, journalist, directors, musicians, socialite, drop outs, every type of person imaginable were hanging out. And in our fashion "scene" this is true there are all sorts of people around, and if you ever get to flip through Vogue make sure to look at the pages with fashion party attendees. By doing this I got to recognize many faces, including the beautiful Chloe.

Picture
Picture
What I am really excited about is the Chloe Sevigny's Opening Ceremony buckle boots she has designed. Which will definitley be the next it shoe, I predict just the rage as the Emma Crepe Topshop boots they no body was able to get their hands on. However, these babies are available for pre-order. The boots, which come in black leather and suede, and retail for $625. Order them now and you'll be able to wear them in late August/early September. Back to school outfit anyone? Pair these boots a la Sevigny by wearing them with her fair isle knits and loose androgynous blouses.
Picture

Fantastic aren't they? What do you think, should I shell out the money (even though my poor teenage allowance most definitely can not afford them) or divert my attention to something else?  On another note, I watched The Outsiders in class today, thats where the post tital qoute is from. We all loved the book and movie, Dally was my favorite in the movie....Tom Cruise was in it to, but most of the time he was beating people up or eating chocolate cake. As Dally was most of the time smoking cigarettes, walking around shirtless (and occasionally pantless), going sucide, or looking tough and beating people up. Impressive, sorry that was random.
