Today, I just finished all exams!! I'm excited to get into a more regular blogging schedule. However, once the stress of my exams were over there was a new thing to stress about; swine flu. Uhg, I'm not even going to talk about it....my school is being bleached to the bone and everytime I sneeze I am literally been handed a Purell bottle.

But, tomorrow I have something to look forward. We have free dress (yes, I am a uniform wearer) in spring colors. So, we can wear florals, pinks, yellows, bright greens, and oranges. I can't wait to see what the boys wear! Not only to we have spring free dress, we have an ice cream party.

And we have an even more fun thing going on tomorrow. Yes, I understand that there aren't many things better than an ice cream party.....but oh there is. Tomorrow we have another school dance. Our school dances are really not at our own school, we just go to a different Catholic school, in the area, to trash and stink up their school. Anyway, I'm thinking of wearing a yellow dress, that I bought a while ago and showed you, with some pink lemonadish colors. But I'm not sure if I would be treated as an outcast at the dance for looking sooo "fancy"......hopefully tomorrow I can post what I finally wear!

I think that I will wear that to school, and bring my turqouise ray-bans as well. Or should I go for brown ray-bans, what do you think? The turqouise is more fun, but I'm not sure if it goes well.....

WhoWhatWearDaily inspired me to have baby barbie pink lips, they should work perfectly with my pink lemonade acssesories!

Hippies. Not that I actually think we are all hippies, but I found this qoute a while ago and thought it was a rather funny. Ever since spring break in 6th grade I have been a devout Beatle fan (as some of you may already know), once you become a Beatle fan there is no stopping, you want to know everything: how tall they are, their girlfriends, favorite foods, and most importantly what they wore and what scene they were in. Of course I adore their clean cut suits era, but my real love is their hippie/psychedelic era clothing. Immeditley, I did some research and I found my style calling; luxe bohemian. My friends think boheminan is only for die hard hippies, but I can show you how to intergrate it into a more modern attire.

But before I give you any advice, you must be willing to be just free about this style. If you can't wear it with real spirit, than you are no bohemian. Remember, as the Moulin Rouge tells us "you must believe in freedom, truth, revolution, and love" to be a bohemian, got that?

A perfectly lovely, not to mention modern, bohemian item you can add to your closet is leather fringe bags and boots. Below EnVouge demostrates this perfectly. The color of the leather is gorgeous, verstile, and classic.

My stylish friend Rachel has a fantastic pair of fringe boots in this deer caramel colour, I am so jealous. I have a plan to go to her house and abduct them. But she did say, since I have smaller feet than her, I could have them soonish. I'm not sure I can wait that long, she wore them to school today, I nearly turned green from envy.

Another sheek, hippy item is the big round Chloe glasses. They are a bit intense for me, but they defintely make a statment and protect your eyes well.

If you have the glasses, bags, and shoes, you have to have the headband. I just bought one at Forever21 for $4.00, and it's fantastic. It is made of leather and has lovely orange and brown (not usually my favorite colour mixtures) beading. I am so happy, my dreams have been somewhat fullfilled!

Hope, what I have written is somewhat helpful. Have an nice day and spread the love!

Just Recently I came across a fabulous website called Modcloth. Sound familiar to you? Modcloth supplies many of the image in polyvores photo bank. The clothing is whimiscal (really loving this word), unigue, and most of all charming! The dress were defintely my style, i spent ages looking through every dress from the 40's onwards. All the colours had that slight childish edge, which I thought was adorable! The acssesories were all rather clever: a ring with a watch on it - time on your hand or Shakespeare shield earrings - with a animal shaking a spear. I was incredibly tempted to buy gold acorns and various other silly things.

The shoes were really fantastic, and incredibly cheap. My favorite pair was a pair of bronze gladiator-ish sandals. Displayed below.

And I really love these two too. That sounded funny. The white ones reminded me of the dress Blair wore to the white party in the beginning of the summer. And the wedges are perfect for the summer.

And I forgot to add these glasses in. Now, that I have contacts, I can acually wear them and see at the same time. I think getting contacts is the best decision I have had in a long time. now I can walk around like everybody else and I can see like them to. Well tell me what you think, I just adore Modcloth myself. Sorry I haven't been a consistent blogger, exams have been really hectic and I have been repeating formulas and grammar to myself for hours and studying. Thanks for sticking with me, and have a wonderful day!

Today, has been a beautiful day, despite the fact that spring break is over. It was like the first day of school again, everyone was laughing and giggling and had gorgeous tans (except for me). School was relatively easy because we had exams this week and it was incredibly sunny, for Seattle. After school, I had play practice for our school musical Suessical. I had to painfully watch people come out one by one after being costumed, I love costumes. Then straight after play I had lacrosse, which was very entertaining. Unsurprisingly, after such a hot day I was really thirsty. So, the first thing I did when I got home was to get a glass of water. After pouring myself a large class I went back in the living room to collect the mail.  I quickly sifted through bills, invitations, and advertisements till I reached something heavy, a magazine. Anyone who knows me knows I have a thing for magazines. I love their glossy covers, crisp pages, and pictures of the beautiful. And as I looked down at May's copy of Elle I saw Drew Barrymore floating gracefully in water. I looked back to the glass in my hand, surely a coincidence. The whole issue was infact based on going blue (no, not green my dears, blue). I adore the spread, and I adore Drew Barrymore, so I feel like I ought to share it with you.

Isn't she/the photos stunning? The photographer is called Alexei Hay, he has worked with not only Elle before but also with Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Details, and New York Times Magazine.  The spread was called Drewly Madly Deeply and had an amazingly whimsical feel and the light is perfect.

Finally, I thought I might add a word or two about going blue (remember not green, that’s to passé). Because of pollution our beautiful world is facing a global meltdown. To save this planet, try to conserve energy and resources by doing small things. We can recycle, compost, install fluorescent bulbs, and buy organic and locally. I'm not going to be a preacher But, I'm sure if we all made a small effort, the world could be a cleaner more beautiful place. So, in the words of the editor, "Drink it all in, people! Just turn the tap off when you're done..."

Yesterday, my mum and I did indeed go shopping. But not entirely vintage shopping, our main focus was botique shopping. Our first stop was The Frock Shop, a dress botique we had noticed earlier this week.

Below, is the outfit in the display window that initially drew us in and my shopping outfit. Sorry I couldn't bother turning the first the pictures the right way up, but don't you think the first dress it's just charming? The ruffles perfectly off set the gray color. And the mustard band dividing the top and skirt part is just the right thickness. My outfit is kind of average, but I love the bag I re-discovered in my mums closet. One of the straps is actually about to fall off so I need to get it fixed. For now the stitching is holding it up, it is a very well made bag. It is from Florence, Italy and is made my the brand Christian. The background in my outfit consists of magazine cut outs. I'm an avid collager and it can get quite messy.

The Frock Shop was adorable, it was like walking into a whimsical mini-cottage full of dresses, how good does it get? The fist dress we fell in love was this purple/magenta spring one. The colour is to die for, absolutely dreamy. Unfortunately, it didn't come in our sizes. But we bought it any way and are going to have it tailored, I'm excited. It really is my mums, but if I were ever to wear it I would wear it with the purple eye shadow in the Gucci add.

This is the dress and cardigan I got. I rarely get a whole "set" outfit because it reminds me of Easter outfits......but the cardigan beading is exquisite and the coral colour looks amazing. And the dress, do I need to explain. A cascade pantone of colours, gorgeous. On the back the cinching looks like vanilla icing. Or more like pearl icing. However, part of the cinching had unraveled a bit. But that was actually got the dress for half price. The dress was already only $68 and now it was only $34, what a bargain.

Because I had lacrosse in 45 minutes we were only able to go into one vintage store. The store was in Freemont, which is declared by the locals the center of the universe and the place where you "have the freedom to be peculiar", yes it was one of those areas.  Nevertheless, the vintage store was supper hip. It was underground and was full of records (I just got a record player so I'm kind of obsessed), baseball cards, photographs, books, shoes, furniture, clothing, and buttons. I am a bit of a collector of buttons and I always seem to be buying them. There was a 3 for $5 sale. I was super excited and started making my way through the whole button collection. I found, the Beatles, the Monkees, David Bowie, Gang of Four, rainbows, everything really. In the end I only wanted to spend $5 on buttons, so I had to narrow my selection down. I first got rid of all the avant-garde buttons that no one in my class would understand (not that they have stopped me from buying some pretty out there things...). After, a while of hard thinking I was down to four buttons. The Andy Warhol’s of The Beatles.  God, darn I couldn't eliminate one of them. The Paul Warhol was the worst quality, but he is my favorite I couldn't eliminate him that would be betrayal. I couldn't eliminate Ringo; a few of my friends would come after me with hell to pay. I couldn't eliminate George, his Warhol looked the hippest, seriously he was giving me a Hare Krishna greeting. Then if I were to eliminate John I would feel guilty. After all he was shot and if not for him these psychedelic buttons wouldn't be in my hand. In the end I got none of them, I ran out of time.

Wanting... 04/16/2009

1. Emma Crepe boots, Topshop $$   I  really really want these boots. They were originally sold by Topshop, but they must have run out (which makes sense because of their greatness) or Topshop stopped distributing them because of their popularity (which makes no sense at all). They first came to my attention when Rumi, from Fashion Toast, received a pair in the mail. I was incredibly jealous and went on an internet boot stalking adventure, I wasn't very successful. But I wasn't stopping there, these boots are perfection. The  black and white play equally a great part in the boot, the fringe isn't over done, and the height is perfect. So, then only yesterday I stopped at Vougemanie's blog and saw she had posted about them to. I left a comment wondering if she knew where one could get a pair. She left me a sweet and helpful comment saying that ebay has a couple of pairs for over $1,000. That's not exactly in my price range so, I am still keeping my eye out for a pair. If you ever see a pair you must tell me, I will be forever grateful!!

2. Levis 631 Skinny Jean $68  Acid washed tie-dyed skinny jeans, a mixture of three separate trends that go magically well together. Initially, I was never a fan. I remember Jessica Simpson (of all people) was wearing them in early 2008, and then her sister Ashley started wearing them too. I wasn't impressed, perhaps it was the people wearing them or how they wore them. The Simpson sisters both wore theirs in typical leg hugging celebrity fashion, but this isn't simply your average pair of skinnies. We must treat these jeans with respect considering they have acid washed, then tie-dyed, then tapered. To treat them with the ultimate respect we must go crazy with the scissors. Look below at Rumi's (another Rumi item) cut up mess of them; it's the fourth diverse style. After shredding the jeans you will have four different trends: acid washed, skinny jean, tie-dyed, and massacred. A work of art. These Levis are cheap and perfect; you can get them from Urban Outfitters. I suggest you get a larger size than you normally wear for the effect, because this is no leg-hugging style.

3. Kraze Cut Out Oxfords, Topshop $90
I had a little trouble tracking down this item. Which was incredibly annoying because I have a growing fetish for them. When I would type in oxfords only men’s styles would appear or women’s high heeled oxfords. That wasn't what I was looking for, I already own high heeled oxfords and I was doubtful that the men’s sizes would fit me. So, I continued my search. The pair I selected, from Topshop, are slightly geeky in an indie way. Bu the real reason I picked this pair is that in 1964, the Beatles wore oxfords nearly identical to these in Miami. Not that is important....all I am saying is that these shoes are amazing and amazing people wear them!  You can barely see them, but look closely at John's feet, sorry about this lame picture. Anyway, I would wear them with longish café coloured socks for the best result, kind of like the socks with high heels style.

Hopefully, later today I will get to do some good vintage shopping. Have a nice day, and as always thanks for reading!

Yesterday, my friends Ellie (the same Ellie from previous posts), Ian, Connor, and I went downtown for the day. You may be wondering why we aren't at school, all the private schools have spring break this week instead of last. Which was kind of weird because we were the only kids wandering around downtown. But kind of fun at the same time because all the adults were looking at us like "why are you skipping school?" Because we're that cool, just kidding.

Our main objective for going downtown was to go to Uwajimaya, a Chinese/Japanese grocery store in China Town.  Uwajimaya (I had to take a picture of the sign so I could remember how to spell it) is full of delicious fish, every kind of candy possible, fortune cookies, Poky sticks, bubble tea, Japanese soda with marbles in them, suspicious looking fruits, erasers in the shape of animals and foods (they were REALLY big in 4th grade), Buddha statues, hello kitty supplies for the whole of Washington, and various kimonos and sandals. There was so much stuff that we had to walk around the store once before we picked out anything. In true Libby nature, I went crazy and took pictures of everything.

As expected, we bought a lot of stuff. Frozen mini sized smoothies, a years worth supply of seaweed, squishy jelly things, a big pack of Poky sticks, a box of fortune cookies, the soda's with the marbles in them, weird candies that looked like pink cigarettes (they were really gum), laughing Buddha’s, and a whole lot of stuff that had packaging that looked cool and that we didn't understand. The whole time we were like:

Me: what does cham le pong sai mean?

Connor: I don't know.

Ellie: Let's get it.

And as expected we had to immediately sit down and eat a good portion of it.

Ellie and I ate undon tofu pasta, being the cool vegetarians we are.

Ian and Connor were not too keen on eating real food and binged on what we had bought. It was really disgusting; Ian actually ate 31 fortune cookies. Can you imagine? And he was working on self control with his mom; he is going to have some obsessive issues later in life and not to mention some health issues too. Connor ate 12 fortune cookies, which is still three times the serving size. The interesting thing about the fortune cookies was that instead of just having one fortune inside there would be two or three. We were extra lucky people, especially Ian.

As you can probably infer from the picture, after 700 calories in fortune cookies and a million Pocky sticks Ian felt a little bit sick. We all  decided it would be nice and prudent to go on a walk.

We walked past the Paul Allen building and crossed the train station to the soccer/football stadium. The stadium was open and we were able to sneak in.  For some reason they had ripped of the turf and were replacing it again. I guess Fredy Montero was so powerful that he ripped up the field, just kidding. But in true Seattle spirit our fun excursion was getting cold and we headed back to China Town.

I forced everyone to look at some authentic clothes before we left, because after all this is a fashion blog.

The red ones were super cute, but unfortunately they only came in toddler sizes. The purple ones were exquisite and fairly comfortable. The wooden flip-flops weren't very comfortable, but far my favorite. They made a fantastic sound when you walked in them!

Nothing about sleep appeals to me. When I was younger, I would re-arrange all the stuffed animals on my bed instead of sleeping. Then I would get out of bed and tuck in the duvet. Once, I had accomplished that I would sit on the floor and look out the windows at the stars. I don't re-arrange my stuffed animals today; instead I listen to my iPod, create fantasies of my future, and think. Some times I think up some very deep thoughts, but I always forget them by morning. Right now (technically last night) everyone in my house is dead asleep and I'm writing this all down with the light of my iPod on the back of a swimming magazine so that I won't forget this. Then tomorrow (which is technically today now) I'll type this out and post it. The reason I dislike sleeping is that I always feel like I'm missing something when I do. Have you ever been up really early? Have you ever seen the college students shuffling into the bus stops at the crack of dawn? Or the dedicated athletes running against the sunrise? Or have you ever been up really late? And seen the friends laughing and coming out of the pubs? And the homeless dogs roaming the city? Or heard the street musician beating on? That’s a whole different world, a world I don't generally see. I am and perhaps you are too missing that world.

Which makes me scared. Because if I'm already missing 7 hours of this world while I'm alive, think of the 24 I’ll miss eternally when I'm dead. What if I miss world peace, the cure for all cancer, flying cars, and people living on Mars? I was baptized a catholic and I go to a catholic school, but I don't believe in a magical afterworld or god. People at my school laugh at this or are just confused. What they don't realize is that you just can't decide you believe in god, it doesn't work that way for most people. It's frustrating, everyone around me believes in something/someone, as I don't believe in anything. In that sense I'm actually secretly jealous of anyone who has a faith, because they have found what they're looking for. As I'm still searching.  And I can't decide to believe in heaven or hell. Once, I'm too old and die I think I will be quite frankly exhausted from this life and wouldn't want to deal with another. I don't believe in hell because no one is really a "bad person" (excluding Hitler) because when it comes down to it we are all human. I have come up with this theory that the good people will be reincarnated until they reach their full potential or nirvana. Then once they reach nirvana they will become a raindrop an fall into an ocean of everyone else, Brahma.

That ocean will be a black velvety nothingness where you will be just comfortably numb. My theory is a spin-off flip of Hinduism and Buddhism. Truthfully, I don't even believe in my own theory. Of course, there is always that caramelized belief that I have that I will die in a vintage lacy Marc Jacobs dress, with a crown of flowers around my head, and a pair of brown heels strapped to my wrist. And that I will enter an Elysian fields like place for the rest of eternity. Unlikely, though that’s the outfit I want to die in.

No matter, what the after-life has in store for me, I have realized something tonight. It doesn't matter once I'm dead what I miss, it is what the world will miss of me. And by sharing this thought with you, you will understand me better. Even if only 400 people ever see this, they will have seen it. When I die, I will leave all those who actually read this in my will; these words.

P.S. Happy Easter/Passover/Spring Break, if that’s what you celebrate. Sorry about this epic letter of faith, but I thought it would be appropriate today. I promise I will go back to normal posts. Oh, and by the way yesterday we reached over 400 views a day for the first time, thanks!

Three Outfits 04/11/2009

Lewa showed me Polyvore (an online collaging/making outfit website) ages ago and I did one set. It took me ages to post it and at the end i just felt dissatisfied. Today I gave polyvore another try. I typed in the URL and I fell into the trap again. As before, I scavenged the web and their archives for the best outfits, shoes, and acssesories. I came up with three outfits based on a military vest  (you know how much I love that style) by Phillip Lim. The first outfit is Romantism on Acid because of the naiivity of the soft colours and bloomers and the rose hair acssesorie. The baby pink braclet says out of this world, and that gave me the idea of the messed-up-ness of the outfit. An  outfit for an adult with child's pants designed by a teenager. Do you know what I mean?? I decided the ultimate songto represent my romantism on acid outfit was Hong Kong Garden by Sioxuie & The Banshees. My second outfit is called An Intellectual State of Origin. I'm not exactly sure why. The olive green shorts reminded me of old library chairs and the ring I paired with the outfit had a classic floral design. But the set also  had gladiator sandals and a necklace with a gold feather on it, so technically it was from an intellectual orgin. The song I selected for this outfit is Young Folks by Peter Bjorn & John, the song is very indie, and I have always thought the idies had an intellectual orgin.  And my third outfit is called Boho's State of Mind. This outfit was rather random and I could only wear it if I was in a boho state of mind. But then it isn't exactly boho either because the shoes are edgy heels. The song I paired with this outfit is Kids by MGMT. I chose this song because it has a cool boho-ness to it as well as an electric side to it. Anyway, as i got sucked and sucked into polyvore i forgot that i didn't know how to post the outfit. I tried for ages and just couldn't figure out how. Eventually I copied it and pasted it into paint and then saved it in pictures. But now the qaulity is grainy and I  am dissatsified with it  as before. However, I had become enamoured by my three outfits and had to  post them anyway. Which outfit do you like the best?? Also,  if you want to see a much clearer version of this go here.
